Parable of the Hidden Treasure and the Pearl in Matthew 13:44-46: “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.”

Just like the man and the merchant mentioned in the parables, if we look deep into our hearts, do we value our relationship with the Lord above all? Does our desire points us towards God? Do we consider Jesus as our treasure?

As we continue to assess ourselves, may we always put great value on the things of God, our relationship with Him, and His kingdom. Loving Him may be costly, but as what John Piper said, “The kingdom of God is so valuable that losing everything on earth, but getting the kingdom, is a happy trade-off.”

May we always love and desire God more than the things of this world.
